NEC Opens LTE Demonstration Center

In continuation of the company's LTE (Long Term Evolution) enterprise, Japanese NEC - which established an LTE joint venture with French Alcatel-Lucent in February 2008 - announced on July 31 that it has inaugurated a demonstration center showcasing the LTE technology, also known as 3.9G, at its existing Tamagawa offices at Kawasaki city, according to a press release by NEC. This new center will help NEC showcase high-quality, end-to-end LTE systems, catering to the needs of customers in installing such systems, including subscriber terminals, core networks, application servers, and wireless access products, according to the same source.
